Getting started
Install GSTS, allow access to your health data, and see your own numbers in under two minutes.
GSTS shows your workouts, sleep and daily activity in one place and explains them against your own history. There's no account to create and nothing to set up.
Four steps
- Open GSTS and read the welcome screen.
- Pick your sport: swimming is already selected; you can also choose running, cycling or other. You can change it any time in Settings → Your sport (see Your dashboard).
- Tap Connect and allow access to your health data. GSTS only reads; it never writes or changes anything.
- Your own numbers appear. Until there's enough data, you see sample data, clearly labelled.
On iPhone
GSTS reads from Apple Health. On the permission screen, tap Turn On All, then Allow. You can change this any time in the Health app: Sharing → Apps → GSTS.
With an Apple Watch you also get heart rate, effort and sleep stages. Without one, GSTS still shows steps and the workouts recorded on the iPhone.
On Android
GSTS reads from Health Connect. On the permission screen, choose what to share and tap Allow. To change it later, open Settings in GSTS → Health Connect (it opens Health Connect for you), then App permissions → GSTS. Or search "Health Connect" in your phone's Settings: where it sits depends on the phone.
Your watch or fitness app (for example Samsung Health or Fitbit) must also share its data with Health Connect, or GSTS has nothing to read.
What GSTS reads
Everything stays on your phone: see Privacy.
On iPhone
Workouts, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, sleep, steps and active energy. To calculate your training numbers, GSTS reads the last 90 days of workouts and a year of heart rate; the free app shows your last 30 days.
On Android
Workouts, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability and distance, for the last 90 days, or 30 days before you first allowed GSTS, whichever is shorter (a Health Connect rule). Steps, sleep and active energy come later.
GSTS is for training and wellbeing. It is not a medical device and gives no medical advice.
